Gears of War: E-Day Achievement Guide & 1000G Roadmap
A practical Gears of War: E-Day achievement roadmap covering campaign completion, collectibles, Horde Siege, Versus and the biggest 1000G requirements.

Gears of War: E-Day has 54 Xbox achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore. Steam still lists the extra zero-point completion achievement, The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day, which was removed from Xbox on October 1 as Xbox moves to its Mythic Achievement system.
If you want the full completion, the important thing is to plan the Campaign, Horde Siege and Versus grinds together instead of treating them as separate cleanup jobs.
E-Day 1000G Roadmap
A sensible order is:
- Finish the Campaign while collecting as much as you naturally can.
- Complete all Secondary Objectives, Hard Cases, Collectibles and Supply Cache unlocks.
- Finish an Insane run for the difficulty achievements.
- Complete the full Campaign in co-op.
- Level all four Horde Siege classes and work through Horde-specific achievements.
- Push Player Level through the Re-Up path.
- Finish the long Versus and Horde kill grinds last.
The biggest completion requirements overlap, so progress made during one part of the game often helps several achievements at once.
Campaign Achievements to Watch
The story itself is spread across five Acts. Normal story achievements will unlock as you progress, but several completion achievements need deliberate planning.
Remember Kalona
Complete all five Campaign Acts on any difficulty.
Today We Are Canceling the Apocalypse
Complete the full Campaign on Insane difficulty.
You're My Brother
Complete every Campaign Act in co-op on any difficulty.
Memories From E-Day
Find every Campaign collectible.
There are 140 collectibles across the Campaign. Use our complete collectibles overview to keep the different completion categories separate.
Relax. I'm the Map.
Discover every Hard Case in the Campaign.
Hard Cases are not ordinary lore collectibles. They are tied to weapon and tactical upgrades, so finding them also improves your Campaign loadout.
Side Piece
Complete every Secondary Objective in the Campaign.
There are 17 Secondary Objectives across the game.
Quartermaster
Unlock every Supply Cache item in the Campaign.
The Campaign contains 36 Supply Caches.
The Big Completion Achievements
For Whom the Bell Tolls
This is the major Campaign completion target. You need the Insane clear alongside full Campaign completion.
Do not treat this as a simple story trophy. Keep your collectible and side-content checklist active while working toward it.
Dead Serious
This is the long-term Gears achievement.
The requirements combine:
- 100% Campaign completion on Insane
- 25,000 Versus kills
- maximum Player Level progression
- maximum level on all four Horde Siege classes
If you are only starting E-Day now, this is not something to grind immediately. Let the multiplayer requirements accumulate while you complete the rest of the list.
Horde Siege Achievements
Horde Siege has several long-term targets. The major ones include reaching max level with all four classes, completing large numbers of missions and secondary objectives, spending Energy and earning kills.
The four launch classes are:
- Assault
- Breacher
- Marksman
- Medic
Each class has 30 levels. For the mode itself, see our Horde Siege guide and class guide.
Versus Achievements
The headline Versus grind is 25,000 kills for HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR… .
There are also mode-specific achievements that are better handled naturally while learning the multiplayer maps instead of forcing them immediately.
Easy Miscellaneous Achievements
Several achievements are based around a single combat action rather than long progression.
These include:
- Two Grubs, One Gut-Punch — eliminate two Locust with one Gut-Puncher round.
- Okay, Boomer. — perform the required finisher on a Boomer.
- Payback's A Pitch — retaliate against an Armored Wretch after it stuns you.
- Chainsaw Go Brrrrrrrrr — use a chainsaw execution on a Locust in Campaign or Horde Siege.
For the Gut-Puncher achievement, see our Two Grubs, One Gut-Punch guide.
Best Way to Approach 1000G
Do the Campaign completion work first because it unlocks multiple achievements while also teaching you the weapons and enemies.
After that, rotate between Horde Siege and Versus rather than grinding one mode exclusively. The longest requirements are designed around a lot of normal multiplayer play, so forcing them too early will make the completion feel much worse than it needs to.
This guide will be updated as more achievement-specific routes are verified during Early Access and full launch.
